Company AST Metal fulfills cold drilling holes in steel plates, beams and profiles.
Unlike traditional drilling, this method does not heat the metal, which preserves its mechanical properties and structure.
The process is used in the manufacture of anchor plates, connecting elements and mounting parts.

CNC equipment and hydraulic presses ensure positioning accuracy up to ±0.2 mm for metal thicknesses up to 60 mm.
In addition, after plasma cutting or bending the holes are made without deformation and with perfectly smooth edges.

The main advantages of cold drilling:

• Minimal surface deformation;

• High repeatability and accuracy;

• Reduced production time.

The process is compliant with the standards EN 1090-2, ISO 2768, ASTM A6, and the equipment is regularly calibrated.
